I don't know about the MIDI faders idea; seems easier to get a
standalone box for that type of thing. However, I really like the 707
form factor and looks, and its hackability. It would be nice, however,
if some things were a little more up-to-date.
Therefor I wonder, has anybody considered replacing the CPU with a
modern microcontroller
It couldn't be that hard, right
Would anybody
be intressted in joining such a project
I have basic PIC skills and
could easily adapt to another controller, but I presently don't have
access to much analyzing equipment.
Has anybody analyzed the 707 data lines and addressing
What I would like to add is better MIDI - faster and sending in all
modes, more storage, better swing, flams and stuff on all samples,
32-note patterns, sample tune (digital), perhaps sample reversing,
stuff like that. It could't be THAT impossible to add sampling to it
as well, could it
It might very well be easier to build a new drum module from scratch
though. OTOH, the 707 _is_ a good lookin box and it has all the analog
parts in place.
