The transistors are for the 707 voices VCAs. If you don't intend to use the VCAs for
anything, then getting signals from the IC is a bit simpler. But "better" is a subjective
value, why not try both and tell us your opinions The whole idea behind modifying gear is
so that it plays how the user wants.
