Cross-refer with my reply about the 707 ROMs. Without changing ANYTHING in one of
these machines, any of us can have either. Meaning it is now my mission to rip my 707
ROMs (which, yes, do suck IMO!), and get somebody else to rip (or help me to rip) the
ROMs from a 727. Then we can add those to the archive and people can pick their faves. I
don't have the cash to buy a 727 for its better sounds, better to just burn four .bin files
and be done with it. I am sure others probably feel the same way.
Rather than making new sound ROMs, this is far, far easier. The addressing and
articulation in these machines is real asspain to adapt. At least this way we get a bit of
variety going on.
Over the next couple of weeks, I am going to try to carefully remove my 707 ROMs and rip
those for posting. Any takers for doing the 727
I am in Connecticut, USA if anybody want
to send their 727 to me to copy the sounds. For no charge, I'll carefully remove the sound
chips, install quality sockets, and send it back to you with chips for both 707 and 727
sounds. Feel free to contact me off list if you want to do this!
