If you are in pattern write mode.. (After you power up the 707, hold down "SHIFT" and press "PATTERN"
Now, while holding down "CLEAR" press pattern the first step/pattern, this should completely erase the first pattern + reset it's time signature to 4/4.
If you hit play now, you should get no sound, as the pattern is clear... then hold down "INSTRUMENT/GUIDE" and select a inst (BD eg) and then enter them in...
