I definitely fried a chip on the voicing board, and I think I know
which one. It's a Toshiba chip, and here's a stupid question: can I
put in a chip from a different manufacturer so long as they have the
same part number Is it the same thing form another manufacturer

Also, for bit scrambling, is it safe to connect pins of the ROM chip
to different ROM chips, e.g. connecting pins from the BD/SD/LT/MT chip
to pins on the crash chip I assume so, and was doing that with no
problems, then I got stupid and shorted the pins to a different chip
altogether, so I'm a little paranoid. I'm not sourcing any more
expensive, obsolete chips for this thing...
