Hi Gregory,
long time no see :) Glad to see people have be makin' use of the
707/727 envelope mods + audio inputs i posted to AH years ago. I've
got the full 727 schematics from mark glinksy, but they're A4 so I
don't know how i'd scan them, maybe 4MP digital photos would suffice
if they were well lit.
Anyways, I brought up the binaries because of two issues;
- Colin Fraser was tempted to modify the 707/727 firmware a few years
back so it could output midi in patter play mode. Perhaps if I
provided him with the firmware he'd take a crack at it finally. He
owns a 727 himself, so it must be of some interest to him.
- The sound roms would also be cool to examine. For reasons of
"extracting" the current samples (compressed and unfiltered/or
dynamics).....and also figuring out how to burn sounds to new ROMs for
them (the current ones are read-only).
I think anything is possible really. I upgraded my Casio Sk-8 toy
sampler to have 16 banks of memory, so once you've done a mod like
that....evrything seem plausable :)
Cheers
