Hi,
 ASM code means "Assembley" code, and is the highest level of
 programming. It's extremely fast (efficient) code, but is hard to
 learn and resembles nothing of C or C++.
 In addition, Assembley code must talk specific instructions to
 specific CPU's, so in order to change the 707 or 727 firmware, we'd
 have to learn alot about how the HD6303 CPU works, then we'd be able
 to figure out what the code is doing.

You know, maybe deliberatley crippled the machine so they
 could sell all the 909's that weren't selling all to well in 1985

Or ASM is a "spread" type of code (and in this
