thanks for the help -

i reversed the polarity of my psu and hooray! i get the correct
voltage readings on IC1 (the 7805 in there)
now, when i turn on the 707 some LEDS (5 or so) will blink VERY
briefly, the LCD wont turn on at all.
my guess is that the 707 draws more current than my PSU can supply.
could someone be so kind to tell me what their PSUs are rated at
mine is rated 800mA - maybe that is not enough
