while in pattern write mode, press play. as the pattern plays, press
and hold the shuffle/flam key, and it will show you the settings for
shuffle and flam by lighting 2 of the step keys. i believe they both
have 5 values. shuffle setting is changed by selecting keys 1-5, and
flam by keys 13-16 (or is it 9-13 ) while still holding down the
shuffle/flam key. you'll hear the effects of shuffle right away,
provided you have notes on any of the even steps. flam will only be
apparent if you have sequenced flam hits for the toms or snare by
selecting that instrument twice.
