i tried putting the crash rom in the spot where ic34 is supposed to
go just to see what it would sound like. i thought it would be neat
to see if the bd triggered part of the crash, the sd triggered
another part, etc, hopefully with some rearranged bits. i thought
this would be especially cool with the pitch knobs.

what actually happened was i got bits of pink noise for each
sound. "shh...shhh...shh." i also tried with the chime from the 727
and same result. i looked at the schematic and lots of the pin
connections are totally different so i guess it just scrambled it
unrecognizably. but in a pretty uninteresting way. oh well.

i also stuck the 727's ic34 into my modified 707 and it sounded very
cool pitching the bongos up and down etc. since i can't do the rom
switching after all i just might do all the same mods to the 727 too.
