i just bought a broken 505 from ebay and when i got it it looked like
it had fallen down about 16 flights of stairs.
only a couple of the buttons on front would work .so i opened it up
and seen that the button matrix pcb had been almost broken in half.
so i redrilled and soldered all the traces affected so that the signal
could get to their destinations and SUCCESS ">><:" :)
all buttons now work. trigger responsiveness was even improved on a
couple that needed it with some metal chocolate tinfoil wrapper cut
and fitted between the membrane and pcb drum pad contact.one side
better conductor than the other, try it out.
the PROBLEM is that when in "track play mode" the play button does
nothing ,won`t paly any demo song etc.
but when being triggered via midi from my korg er-1 electribe the play
button stops and starts the midi data flow from the electribe.
so i know that the play button works but as to why there is no demo
tracks or the reason they are not being triggered etc i am puzzleded.
could this be a problem with the internal battery
i really want to get this problem sorted and start bending this bitch :)
