Isn't that what the pitchmod already does
My thinking was that if you run your 555's faster than the stock
sample rate for a voice, then the 707 will be doing a DAC conversion
for that voice every Ts = 1/fs_stock.
Your 555 clock, though, might be incrementing through the ROM at a
faster rate. This means you might be skipping samples: eg, your 555
incremented through 3 ROM locations in when the 707 actually only made
two DAC conversions for a voice.
I don't know if that's actually the case, but maybe it's possible
It might depend on if the Gate Array somehow resynchronizes the new
clock and the MUX/DAC enable. And anyway, since this pitchmod is
intended to change the sound, skipping samples might make the sounds
even more lofi, often a good thing.
