Omni mode is fine, but bear in mind that it will try and play information on ALL 16 MIDI channels.

This is OK if your 707 is the only thing you are playing from your computer, but might get real boring when the 707 starts trying to play your killer bassline.

My advice is to turn OMNI Off, and put the 707 on the right midi channel (or change the computers midi channel to match the 707's)

From memory (as mentioned before) the 707 defaults to Midi CH 10 on power up.
