as a matter of fact, i tried this first, with a 74hc14 or something.
the problem i ran into was that sometimes the pitches affected
eachother, i think when one was at the top of its range. it may just
be because i didn't know how to optimize the components for the range
i wanted though. definitely worth more checking into.
