hey there, i use a 707 triggering a jx3p as my main setup. you do not need a din sync cable to use them together. make or buy a cable that goes from "1/8in" (mini) jack to "1/4in" jack and then use the rimshot trigger output to sync the jx internal sequencer. its just a 5v pulse that send a loud ass click to the jx to advance its sequencer one step. you can program a bunch of random chords/notes and then space out the rim shots and play around until you find something beautiful. add mixers and fx and you are jacking old school chicago or detroit style.
