Hello,
I have a Roland SH-101 that I use to control my Doepfer modular
system via CV & Gate (not midi).
I haven't used it for a while, and I have noticed a problem when I
tried to record with it yesterday. There is always a constant tone
coming out of the Doepfer even when I am not pressing a key on the
Roland SH-101. I have the CV and gate going out of the SH-101 into
the VCO and the gate of the ADSR of the Doepfer respectively.
It does play and change notes when I push the keys down on the SH-
101; it's just that there is always a tone coming out of it when
there are no keys being pressed. I have played the Roland SH-101 by
itself, and everything seems to work. There is no sound coming out of
it when there are no keys being pressed. (It is quiet when I am not
pressing any keys.)
Another issue I have discovered separately from using it with the
Doepfer is that when I hook my Roland TR-606 to the SH-101 I am
unable to control the sequencer with the TR-606. (The sequencer in
the SH-101 seems to work fine when used by itself when not connected
to the TR-606) I have also tried another Roland drum machine (Boss DR-
110) to control the sequencer in the SH-101, but the same thing
happens. So I feel it isn't the drum machine.
I figure the problem may be with my Roland SH-101 and not the Doepfer
or TR-606 since the 101 is always at the root of each hook-up. Does
anyone here have any ideas what it might be Or if it is something
other than the SH-101 Or do I just have the Doepfer hooked up wrong
Any help is much appreciated.
Thank you,
The Beatbox Gestapo
