Hi Chris

The signal of most other synthesizers fit well into the audio inputs af
any audio module. The real advantage of the A-119 is given with non line
signals (e.g. guitares or microphones). Also the functions of envelope
following and gate creation from audio signals can be provideed only by
the A-119.

You always should use some gear, that is able to decrease the sigkla
volume (e.g. some small mixer like an Behringer or Phonic. The direct
output signal level of the A-100 is to high to connect it direct to an
active monitor.

Mixers: Linear for control voltages, Exponential for audio
VCA:
- Linear for envelope control (ADSR - the control signal is already
exponential),
- Exponential for LFO and dynamics control (e.g. velocity from MIDI or
envelope follower).
Where mixing audio signal on a linear mixer is not perfect but possible,
mixing control voltages on a logarithmic mixer is very unsatisfying.
If you want to take only one VCA or one mixer, you should buy the linear
version of each.
