I was planning to buy an a100g3, as I only want a few Euro models and have very limited
space in my rig... but I had to buy an a100g6 case as the 3U one wasn't available.
The only difference seems to be side plates... the 6U model has 2x 6U side plates... so
theoretically if I got 4x 3U sideplates I could split the rails into two built frames, right
or even for now, just get 2x 3U sideplates, as I won't utilize the other set of rails for a
while, if ever.
I don't really have access to any metal shops where I could cut metal myself..
Do I have any easy options other than building them myself I figure I could just measure
the 6U plate's dimensions, and order 2 custom cut sidepanels from
http://www.metalsdepot.com/products/alum2.phtml page=plate&LimAcc=%20&aident=
then drill the holes myself. There shouldn't be any problem with grounding, right Maybe
the hole drilling isn't quite as simple as I'm making it out to be - I've yet to get the rack or
see how the rails mount
Is it worth trying to go through Proma overseas
