Sam,
You could follow my lead which was to buy a large ampage linear PSU to
power the whole case.
A good +/-12V supply ay 3A for example will power you case (depending on
the modules used) without any difficulty.
In the UK I have used Amplicon and Calex. Now I have not had issues with
these supplies and my system but remember that using no approved PSU's
may cause warrenty issues with Doepfer.
I purchased the bus boards from Doepfer and wired them all up and no
issues.
For the few modules that require 5V I use the 5V adapter from Doepfer.
The rack rails are also available from various places including Radio
Spares and Farnel.
Search for Vero rack or Euro rack.

Subject: 1 building a case, need advice
i'm trying to plan out a diy case that should be the equivalent of 6
doepfer racks. the
building end of this project is no problem for me but i am hoping to get
some advice on the
electronics part.
i have noticed that doepfer has the diy power supplies available for
purchase but i am
assuming i would need several for a case this size. is there a more
compact solution to
powering a rack this size something that will alleviate the need for
several seperate power
cables running out of the back
I am also wondering if anyone knows where i could get a few of the rack
rails that are built
into the doepfer racks. the diy power supplies come with hardware to
attach the modules to
the case but they would require a piece of wood between the panel rows
to attach the
hardware too. I would prefer that the modules were edge to edge as they
are when placed in
the doepfer rack.
any advice or tips from anyone who has built their own case would be
very much appreciated.
thanks!
sam
