I can't see evidence that there is something peculiar about where the
red band is painted. One has to get the right voltages to the right
places, but can't one accomplish this by reversing the orientation of
the plugs at BOTH ends simultaneously (The reason I ask is that I
was sold a ribbon with the red band printed on the wrong side, and I
have an ASys case which only allows one orientation going into the
power board.)
