Well, if we are going thatta way.
I could imagine two types of these,
186a : 5 knobs,5 switches and 10 jack sockets and maybe a big 25 D
connector so you can connect up to whatever experimentation board
you'd want to use. Of course connected to the power supply with some
sort of shortout protection.
When the 'experiment' turns out valid I'd imagine
186b : Same knobs, switches and sockets but now internally a
standardized card slot in which a custom print could be inserted. The
card slot connections could be standardized like the D connector.
It could be called something like A186a/b DIY module ;-)
I'd imagine the circuit protection would be a hassle, and I suppose
there'd be some warranty issues here. But it sure would open up
experimenting when your not a soldering god (like me)
