hello,
when Digidesign release the Core Audio drivers for their Digi 002 Rack
interface in a few weeks I hope to start using it as a kind of computer
controlled patching matrix with the A-100. With software one could make
input-output presets and switch between them rapidly, making instantaneous
patch changes possible. For instance, 8 outputs and 8 inputs on the a-100
would be connected to the in- and outputs of the digi 002 interface and go
into the computer. one could then determine the way those inputs and outputs
are routed to each other in various software programs and save those
configurations. i'm pretty excited about the possibilities of this,
especially for live performance, where i've often wanted to be able to
switch to a completely different, often complex a-100 patch in a split
second.
i wanted to ask if anyone else here has been experimenting with running all
the patch cables into a routing system that could be controlled by software
or midi.
the drawback of my particular audio interface, the digi 002 rack, is that it
has only 8 analogue input and output pairs. that's only about 10 percent of
the inputs and outputs my a-100 system has.
does anyone know of audio interfaces for powerbooks with significantly more
channels
thanks!
