Interesting Idea, mdimm
my first reaction is that there are other units, such as the motu 24i/o (24 inputs/outputs), and it is even possible to link more than one motu units to set up multiples of 24,but there is also this unit (forget the model name) from behringer with which you can set up multiple VCA's and routings through a computer, this could turn out to be a solution too
however, I need some time to think about what you want, I feel this should be possible with other (more cheaper ) solutions, I definitely agree that it would be exciting if such a solution would exist, maybe it could be a future A-100 module.... (Doepfer )
