Hi Nectarios,
>>no. A phaser uses phase shifting (so-called all pass
>>filters), a flanger a normal delay.
Just a small addition to Dieters explanations:
Every analog filter creats phase shifting. You may try this by the
following setup:
LFO----\
\
+--------VCF-Lowpass----\
| \
VCO-Saw---Multiple Mixer-----VCA-> out
| /
+-----------------------/
Turn the direkt VCO-signal of the mixer down. Then adjust the VCF that
way that the filter passes only a smooth trombone like sound, and adjust
the LFOs modulation depth at the filter not too wide.
Then raise again the level of the direkt VCO signal at the mixer. You
will find a mix between VCF-signal and direkt signal that results in a
phaser like sound.
