Hi Bakis,
A triangle waveform is not just a triangle wave, not only for the
different waveshape from one VCo to other, but also for the changes
between adjacent waves and chages in continous waves.
About the triangle from the CEM3340 chip, I have lots of VCOs for
comparing, including a couple of A111 (that I use for modulation only)
and each one sound very different to my ears. my favorites are the EMS
and system 100 triangle waves, followed by the serge. Also I own some
analogue systems VCOs and the triangle sound very different to the
A111, but I must say I don`t like very much the triangle from AS...
Regarding the question if the organic quality wold be in the
waveshaper, do the A111 saw have a organic quality I ask you because
the SAW is derived using a waveshaper...
I don`t want to start the same questions we discussed in the past, I
don`t see the point of thinking a waveshaper would be the same as a
different VCO... Even the serge wave multiplier (really complex module)
don`t sound the same using the output from the serge NTO or the A111,
also don`t forget you`ll want to modulate FM or AM this "source VCO" and
this modulation will sound different. finally, I`d like to get the
variable sync point as the 259, and we can`t get this with either A111
or other VCO in the market (well, I own a polyfusion VCLFO that have
this...)
Best Regards,
Josue.
