I actually suspect that the umber of people who start with the BS1 and BS2 are relativly few. Its by no meens essential.
As for midi. I have a doepfer midi cv unit, so im not saying bad about doepfer per-se, but i personally wouldnt choose the a-190
for my system.
Basicaly what you need to start is some way to power the modules, some way to connect them to the power source, and some way to
mount them. Oh, and at least one module.
I was looking back on my old notes the other day from years back, how i was going to do my system (before i bought any modules)
Man, did i know nothing You learn a lot about your needs as you go along.
I would say, from reading your description, that a BS1 or BS2 would actually be bad for you. Its set up verry much as a standard
( ) synth. It appears that is not what you want at all.
So, yeah, get a case, and then start aqquiring individual modules. If you have some bits allready, then theres not even an absolute
*need* to buy more then one to start with. And then see what direction that takes you in.
A filter of your choice.
Maybee the a-112, and some sort of controll module, if your feeling extravogent. (good for crazed noise granular[ish] stuff)
Maybee some of doepfers newer crazier modules (cant comment, dont have any personally)
S&H and clock sequencer modules are ones that *I* find usefull, in creating sound (rather than music )
The analogue solutions ms20 filter clone is nice (a.sol and doepfer are 100% compatible - a.sys are more awkward, but can be done)
I could obviously go on... ; )
Just my 2pence worth..
