hello ernst,
the internal clock oscillator of my a117 has
the same minimum frequency as yours, so i
guess there is nothing wrong with your module.
the a117 seems to be a noise source in the first
place, especially when looking at the frequency
range of the internal clock.
the key for really slow random clock signals
is the external clock input jack. using an
a145 lfo here will give you all frequencies
you'll ever want. for variable frequencies
you can use the a147 vc-lfo or the a110 vco.
you can also use clock dividers to slow down
the a117 output, but you will get a somewhat
different sounding result from this technique.
the output signal looses a lot of it's randomness
and starts to sound more like a pattern, because
the divider also alters the lengths of the
high/low states, making them more equal.
so for the randomness of the signal it is
far better to use an external clock instead
of dividing the a117 output.
best wishes
ingo
