I was asking the same question today...
AFAIK for a VERY BASIC Poly Patch you will need at least 1VCO,
1Filter, 1ADSR (common for VCA and filter) , 1VCA FOR EACH VOICE you
want to play. (but this would make a really thin sound, of course,
more VCO the beter)
Furthermore, You'll need a MIDI-CV Interface capable of sending two
different CV singals to the different VCOs and GATES to the Different
VCAs (Doepfer MCV24, the Keyobard for the old Roland System 100 and
was told also the old Roland MPU should do the trick. Dunno what else
works)
In the end, getting a modular to polyphony it's a great expense and
waste of time patching cables ;-). But I'm waiting for a MCV24 to
test it with My 8VCOs...
