Hello. I'm new to the list. Just joined.
Good to find such a list exists!
I'm in Utrecht now, but I live in Australia normally.
I'm thinking of buying some Doepfer stuff:
Some modular bits, and possibly the MAQ 16/3.
My question to the list is this:
Can anyone help me out with a comparison between using the MAQ 16/3 and
either one, or a few, of the A-155 sequencers from the modular system.
For the same money I could get approximately the same features of CV and
Gate sequencing from one MAQ 16/3 as almost three of the A-155 sequencers.
 My views and points:
Each A-155 has only 8 steps (with two rows of CV/Gate/Trigger sequencing),
 while the MAQ has 16.
But, I can set up two A-155 modules to run one after the other, in turn,
providing me with a 16 step sequence (with two rows of CV/Gate/triggers).
Thus, I have something like the functionality of two thirds the MAQ 16/3.
A third A-155 would then bring it up to something like equal sequencing
 capability in each system.
I suppose it basically boils down to whether you want extra MIDI functions,
or extra analogue interfacing, as you'll find on the A-155.
Has anyone on the list had experience with both these sequencers that can
share their personal feelings about the experience. I think just the
hands-on experience of creating with a particular piece of gear is very
important for me, so intuitive reflections will be appreciated.
 Cheers,
 Evan Lorden.
