Hi,
I am looking for something, that assumingly does not exist. ;-/ Let me
describe it:
We are several guys making improvised music with different type of
sequencers, drummachines, arpeggiators. We do realy create the patterns
live, so we cannot start all the seq/drum/arpggs at the same time
(most of the gear does not allow pattern creation in play mode).
Some of the gear is 40 years old, some is latest laptop stuff. So there
is MIDI-Clock, Din-Sync and simple 16th trigger with separate start/stop
controle.
What I am looking for is a set of hardware tools:
- The first tool should read the clock and start/stop signals from a
master (or create the clock on its own). From this masterclock it should
create a kind of "flag" trigger at the first beat of each bar (or every
second/fourth/eight... bar). It should send the clock, the standard
start/stop signal and the additional flag trigger.
- the second tool should read the clock and this flag trigger at its
input. It should have also a button "local start". When I hit the button
"local start" the tool should send a start signal (and of course the
clock itself) to its output.
- the third part should convert all this to different types of clocks
and star stop signals.
I could imagine, that the tools #1 and #2 use MIDI-Clock and tool #3
could be a standard MIDI-converter.
Does anyone know about some gear that is able to do this Or did anyone
ever try something like this
I could realize this with diy'ing for DIN-Sync and analog trigger, but I
am out of the business when it affects MIDI.
regards, Florian
