Florian,
I'm not sure if this helps and it doesn't cover all your needs.....
I sometimes use my swedish drum machine (now with sampling! :} ) as a
clock/trigger source. There are 6 outputs, and I can use voices which are
set up as Impulses for triggers. A 16th note pattern could be my clock at
one output and I could have a start of measure trigger on another output.
Changing the preset "beat" pattern would be like changing to different clock
divisions and trigger patterns, as long as you set up some presets of
course. Then with muting tracks live (your local start) and even using the
song editor you can do a bunch ahead of time and on the fly. Of course, you
can also edit the pattern live, chain patterns together..... and add
SHUFFLE/SWING.......awesome. Sometimes I use a shuffled trigger pattern
from the drum machine and a CV pattern from the MAQ 16/3 to make shuffled
synth loops.
So anyway, if you have one of these you've probably thought of this. If
you don't have one, borrow one and try it out. so many possibilities. I
asked the swedes to release a dedicated sequencer based on their drum
machine (and now synth) but they didn't see the point. Shame.
Good luck.
