hello bryan,
the metalbox/cgs wave multiplier incorporates three independent
wavefolders, but only one of these is voltage-controlled.
the other two are really simple and have manual control only.
one benefit of the module is that you can easily go
from "no effect" to "full effect". it is also a benefit to
have three folders, if you want to process more than one
sound at once with only one module. a drawback is that
the module sounds more dirty/noisy with high multiplicators
and that the overall sound is not so versatile.
not to mention the higher price compared to the a137.
the a137 is more versatile in terms of sound, it offers
more parameters, more voltage-control and it sounds
less dirty. the a137 incorporates one multiplier only,
but it is the most elaborated one.
if i had to choose one, i'd probably take the a137.
best wishes
ingo
