"The HSVCO and the QVCO are two completely different
projects. The HSVCO is
planned as an external high speed clock generator for
several new modules
(e.g. A-188-1, universal AD/DA module but even for
Graphic VCO applications
with the A-155) with frequencies up to several kHz. It
has a rectangle
output only. The QVCO is a sine/cosine generator with
exponential and linear
control scale (with thru-zero for linear control). It
can be used as
additional module for the frequency shifter, as
quadrature/4-phase LFO (with
0/90/180/270 degree sine waves) and - with some
limitations - for FM
synthesis. Details concerning the limitations on the
preliminary page of the
QVCO on our website. It can be switched to VCF as well
(lowpass, bandpass).
But I'm not sure if this feature will be included as
we already have so many
filters available (but not this special circuit so far
and not with
linear/thru zero, but I'm not yet sure if this makes
sense with a filter).
Today the TKB prototype (second version) has been sent
to NAMM (Analogue
Haven). Let's hope that it will work with 115V/60Hz as
well. Even the laser
harp (CTM64 application) is on the way. But we are not
sure if we will
exhibit it as it is very tricky to adjust the 13 laser
beams so that they
focus exactly to the 13 photo diodes. If it does not
work in time Shawn
Cleary will install the harp later in his shop."
