I orginally had the envelopes restart from the current level rather than zero but I didn't like the result as notes had variable attack amounts which varied from nothing to the pot setting and sounded odd. I agree that it's not ideal having the attack restart from zero on a used note that still has level but haven't come up with a better way. Yes it would be possible to use note velocity (or other source) to mod the attack time or attack start level if this is thought to be the way to do it. The PE could put attack time onto a pedal using the Ext input if you want to try this.
