Yes it works. And selected mode is restored at power up.
Press Tape, then D : current setting should show. Press Tape again to exit.

The difference is quite subtil, it mostly "shows" on long values for attack and release, because "very short" x 2 is still "very short"...

And to be honnest i prefer the mode 3 with slow envelopes ;)
