Hi all! This is my first ever post so please be gentle!
Just thought i'd share my kiwisix experiences and ask a couple of questions in case someone here might be able to assist..
I installed a kiwisix board late last year (to replace a horrendously leaked battery board) and have just successfully upgraded its firmware to V400 (program) and V301 (boot loader).
All seemed to go well. Lights are flashing correctly (4,7 & 8) on startup. I have also reset programs 1-1024 (by pressing write & manual at start-up) and i'm assuming that has worked ok (i haven't gotten around to locating where all these programs are actually stored!).
My first problem lies with resetting bank A11 to A88 (called 'factory reset 1' in kiwisix manual):
According to the manual you press D and it flashes (mine does) then 8 and it flashes along with the write button (my 8 button flashes, as does the 6 button, but the write button does not).
I assume that 'memory protect must be set to off' simply means to switch to write enable. Is this correct?
Has anyone had a similar experience? I was sure that when i installed the kiwisix i wired everything up correctly..

Another problem i'm having is tuning (or more accurately scaling).
When i press a D note on the keyboard it plays a G and this is continuous across all octaves.
Otherwise the tuning is fairly good.
I have gone through the troubleshooting steps in the manual:
My opticoupler reads -3.1v which is within range.
Q12 (the matched transistor pair) is next on my list - i will be removing it tomorrow to test with a DMM.
I am also planning to mount new op amps (IC's17,18 & 19) and to test caps 22 and 62 out of circuit.
Has anyone had any success fixing a scaling issue by taking any of these steps?
Please share your experience, I'd be most interested..
Many thanks in advance,
Waz.
