to make a sample set, you don't sample every key. Especially for synth
sounds, thats a bit excesive.

On the other hand, something like Extreme Sample Converter goes a long way
toward automating the task.

I use the BassMIDI soundfont player, which provides a lot of control options
and can do some very useful things. But I'm not looking forward to having to
sample every sound from both a Matrix 6r and a Matrix 1000, 1100 patches,
across at least 61 keys to get several huge sound banks that would require a
lot of memory in a machine to load the sounds, so though that has some
possible value it's not optimum. I'll do that if I have to, but I'd rather
not.
Any free VST or, preferably, stand alone player would be great. (I'll have
to use a VST interface like VST Host for my current setup, as QWS, my
current sequencer, doesn't have VST support)
