Well, I was able to pull an alps slider (10kbx2, 30mm) out of an old board from a Casio RZ-1. I switched out the handle, so that I could use the 707 slider cap. I hooked it up and it works great. The 707 is back to a normal volume. The problem that I thought I had fixed with the starting/stopping issue turns out.....not fixed. It seems that after being shut off for a bit, it works fine. As it stays powered on for a bit, it starts to become faulty. The start and stop/cont buttons will not play a sequence.....just a beat or two, and it shuts off. I'm guessing a component is overheating.....I'm going to try to test it running with everything pulled out of the case.....maybe a hot chip
