Are you sure, that it is mor "dim" than usual
I always found the
display having not that much contrast, that you would expect from a
modern (not backlit) display. I own from the later TR-Series a 707,
727, and the 505 and I have a DR 550MkII. And the DR-550 has a much
better contrast than the three TRs.
