The display looks entirely blank when viewed from above, but if you move so that you're viewing it from a very low angle, you can see that it's actually working - albeit very dimly.
I do have concerns over the power supply I'm using, in that the jack is a little loose (I'm going to see if I can find something better), but when the connection is made, it's supplying 12V, with 5.1V reaching the display board.
There's not much to the schematic - a few caps for the charge pumps and a few resistors for drive, so I'm not sure where to turn. I can't actually figure out the type of the caps (film
) - I could look at replacing them, but it seems a shot in the dark. Could it be aging of the LCD
