Not that I know of, but I'd be surprised if this had not at some time been done. Roland, for
their own weird reasons, scrambled the data and address lines. One would need to mess
around with the chips for a while to rip them properly. Also, they are not ROMs, but SRAM
(Static RAM) - which is notoriously volatile. Anyway, the closest I know of somebody doing
it is Colin Fraser's rip of the TR-909 cymbals. The 909 cymbals used the same samples in
SRAM. If you read Colin's pages for his 909 clone there is some info there. I will probably
get around to it someday.

I'd far rather have 727 sounds. Once I get this going, I will likely lose the 707 sounds and
burn my own ROMs a la DX, Drumulator, Linn, etc. I love the 707 interface, but the sounds
are just ok. On my 707, I tried to lay it out for ZIF sockets screwed onto the case for ready
swapping out of ROMs (I'll just use ordinary EPROMs instead of SRAM), but I already had
lots of space taken up by controls for other mods. I'd still want my individual clocks, PCM
mods, etc. So... I am going to make a 707 inside another case with more room for mods,
but not right away.

It's just that Roland made it a bit of a chore. It will be done.
